Castaway Cove is a barrier island gated or guarded community that offers both riverside & ocean-side homes. The subdivision is divided into five communities which are referred to as waves. Waves II and IV are situated between the Indian River and A1A while waves I, III and VI are between A1A and the Atlantic Ocean. With just over 400 homes Castaway Cove is a very welcoming & family oriented community. Most of the residences were built in the 1980's and 1990's, although many homes have been updated in recent years. Homes were built by many different custom home builders, so even with some deed restrictions, homes vary greatly in size and design. A community beach access pavilion has a shower, bike racks and a boardwalk over the dunes.
